| 7/23 - The 5 star race at canandaigua started with a 6th place heat finish followed by a 2nd place finish in the consi. The car was good at the start as I advanced from 22nd to 14th, but the handling went away and I finished 16th. Rolling Wheels on Sunday started with a 6th place heat finish. After starting 18th I had advanced to 13th in the late stages of the race with a chance at a top 10 until contact sent me back to 17th at the finish. 7/16 - This past weekend started off at Canandaigua. Rain came before our feature could hit the track. A 5th place heat finish will have me starting 10th for the September 1st makeup feature. Sunday night saw us return to Weedsport. I was able to advance from 7th to 6th in the heat and avoid the consi. After starting 14th, I had moved up to 8th by lap 15. However, the handling went away drastically over the final 20 laps as I faded to 18th at the finish. 7/9 - We were finally able to visit a track for the 2nd time this year at Canandaigua Saturday night. Problems in traffic resulted in a 9th place heat finish. After starting 17th in the feature, I made it to 9th place by the first caution. A sealed over right rear caused us to fade back to 11th at the finish. The car was quite a bit better than our first race though. 7/4 - Our trip to Rolling Wheels for the twin 50's Super Dirt Series race made it 4 different tracks in our first 4 races. The night started out rough with a 37th place time trial effort and a 10th place heat finish. However a much improved car in the consi allowed us to gain 4 spots and qualify for the race. The first 50 laps saw us advance from 29th to 22nd. An ill handling car and the decision to save the engine caused me to pull in at the halfway point of the 2nd 50 laps.. 7/1 - The 2nd race of the 5 Star Series meant that we would make our first trip ever to the Fulton Speedway. Unfortunately, I drew 37th out of the 39 cars. Passing 1 car in the heat and 2 in the consi was not quite enough to make the 24 car field. 6/24 - Our first trip to Canandaigua started with a 4th place finish in the heat after starting 7th. The new Morrison engine ran well but the car's handling was off. We only managed a 15th place finish in the feature. 6/17 - Our 2007 season started off at Weedsport. I started 9th in the heat race and was only able to advance to 8th. This gave me the 15th starting spot for the feature. Unfortuantely, contact with the third turn wall left us with a 17th place finish and a DNF. We lacked forward bite all night. |
